AVON BONSAI SOCIETY

Here are the events held by the club this year.

NOTE: There will be a special area set aside this year at all meetings for members to bring trees to work on. There will be a designated tutor from the Club available to give help or advice if needed.

TREE OF THE MONTH COMPETITION
For 2008 THERE WILL BE TWO SECTIONS AT EACH CLUB MEETING:
1. OPEN - Any Bonsai of the Nominated style. Trees must be in a bonsai pot. To be judged by member's vote.
2. 'NEW TALENT' - For members doing bonsai for 5 or less years - Bonsai must be styled by you & of the Nominated style. Any type of pot / container allowed. This section will be judged by a single nominated person each year.
N.B. Up to 2 entries per class, per person, for each meeting).

Display Only Class: Open to all: Any other bonsai with some special feature ( eg in flower, or showing a special technique) that you would like to show to the members .One tree per person.

 Market & Trading Nights Bring along any Bonsai / Gardening-related items for sale: Club will take 10% commission for selling on your behalf, or you can hire part of a table for a small fee, and sell your own goods, or swap items directly with other club members.

June 4th Club Night Workshop: Making small pots for mame or companion plants.

July 2nd Club Night Workshop: Starting a new bonsai initial pruning & wiring

August 6th Club Night Workshop & Critique: Troublesome Trees

October 1st Club Night FEATURE: Demonstrations on Propagation Methods (Cuttings, Aerial Layering, Grafting etc) Layers & Grafts done last year will be followed up.
